Rose Figueroa, Staff Writer
Hey everyone, my name is Rose Figueroa and I am a junior at Pinole Valley High School. I am one of the staff writers for Spartan Ink and am also involved in multiple other things. A couple things I participate in school-wide is the Softball Team, Speech and Debate Team, We Science, Interact Club, Early Academic Outreach Program, National Honor Society, and I am the head of Animal Rights Club! Outside of school I perform aerial, which is a circus aerobatic type of peformance using the appratuses: lyra, rope, silks, and trapzees. I currently showcase my skills and love for aerial at the East Bay Center for Performing Arts. I also volunteer my free time at the Oakland zoo where my job varies from informing the public about animal artifacts, educating the pubic about endangerments animals face, cleaning cages, making food for animals, to assisting zoo keepers in their laborous tasks.I have been working here for a little over three years now and wish to pursue the career of a veterinarian. I have one dog (he’s a boxer) and I love to play with him in my spare time. I am also the older sibling between my sister and I.
