During Nintendo’s 38-minute Nintendo Direct presentation live streamed on January 16th, the 5th DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was shown off, who is also the last fighter in the Fighters Pass. The 5th DLC fighter in question is Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

The 4 DLC fighters that preceded Byleth are Terry from Fatal Fury, Banjo & Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie, Hero from Dragon Quest, and Joker from Persona 5.

The first 5 DLC fighters included in the first Fighters Pass.

During the last 3 minutes of this Nintendo Direct presentation, Masahiro Sakurai, the series’s director, announced that a second Fighters Pass is on the way, officially named the Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Unlike the first Fighters Pass, which had 5 DLC fighters, the second Fighters Pass is going to have one additional fighter, topping it at 6 new fighters.

6 new DLC fighters are in development and will be included in Fighters Pass Vol. 2.

The Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will be available for pre-purchase on January 28, 2020 and all Challenger Packs (each DLC fighter is included in their own Challenger Pack along with their home stage and music tracks from their series, often in the form of brand new remixes created specifically for their inclusion in Smash) will be released by December 31, 2021.
