Fortnite Chapter 2 is an expansion of the wildly popular battle royale title created by Epic Games.

On Sunday, October 13th, Epic Games introduced an event that concluded Season 10 of Fortnite called ‘The End’, which saw players and the entire setting around them being devoured by a black hole. Anyone who attempted to play Fortnite following the conclusion of ‘The End’ was left with a black hole in the center of their television screen, with the only option on display being an “exit” button on the bottom right corner of the screen.

This lead to widespread speculation that Fortnite might have either pulled the plug completely or is building up hype for a 2nd chapter of the popular shooter game. The latter turned out to be true.

Fortnite Chapter 2 was revealed on Tuesday, October 15th via a reveal trailer that Epic Games uploaded to their official YouTube channel. It is a huge expansion of the original Fortnite and has both added and changed a lot of things, such as new weapons and abilities.

The first big change I noticed from the start is that the original island that players battled on was replaced with a brand new island that is much larger than the original island. Additionally, there are large bodies of water scattered throughout the island. Players can travel through the water either by swimming or by boats, which are also new additions to the game.

Besides traveling being a primary use of the boats, the boats can also be useful for fishing which is a new feature that was included in Chapter 2. Catching fishes can result in health and defense bonuses for whoever manages to catch them.

Along with new weapons come upgrade machines, which allows players to trade a specific amount of materials to strengthen weapons they possess in their inventory.

Another method of reviving teammates was added to the game as a part of this update. Players can carry their teammates once they have been downed, as opposed to reviving them the traditional way.

Chapter 2 has also made it a lot easier to earn V-Bucks, the in-game currency, which can be used to buy items such as outfits and the Battle Pass. You can earn up to 1,500 V-Bucks by completing in-game challenges, which is more than enough needed to purchase the Battle Pass.

Overall, I give Fortnite Chapter 2 a 9.9/10! It took what made Fortnite great and expanded on it in various ways. If you are a veteran fan of Fortnite, Fortnite Chapter 2 is a must-have!
