As new waves of fashion come by, keeping up financially may seem impossible. Thrifting is a haven for all trends, new or old, and most importantly for everyone at reasonable prices. Thrifting has become a popularized trend as vintage apparel has made its way through the waves. When thrifting, it is essential to have an open mind and patience. This is heavily due to the fact that you may not find amazing pieces right away, so constant digging through racks is something you must be prepared for. By being open-minded, you can try to make an outfit out of something that may be out of the ordinary!

The most local thrift stores are Thrift Town in El Sobrante and Goodwill in San Pablo, but it is not the best if you have the intentions of finding branded items, such as Champion or Nike. Don’t doubt those stores since you can still find everyday items such as solid color tees.

Berkeley is home to several thrifting stories, both affordable and expensive. For example, Buffalo Exchange and Crossroads both carry many branded clothes, but are often more expensive for that very same reason. Stores such as Anastasia’s and Mars Mercantile are both thrifting stores that carry items that are most popular and up to trend. This is mainly because the clothes donated there are from college students who most likely keep up with the latest styles.

Overall, thrifting is an amazing experience as it is unique every time. Do not be intimidated by the latest trends because they are often overpriced clothing that can be found in any thrift store if you have the dedication to do so. Going to thrift stores can help inspire you and even your friends to try styles out of the ordinary!
