American drag queen, singer-songwriter, actress, model, and reality TV mogul RuPaul is the most commercially successful drag queen in the world.

She began her music career in November 1992 with her hit single, “Supermodel (You Better Work)”, from her debut album, Supermodel of the World, and since then, the living legend has gone on to release 11 more records before the arrival of her thirteenth studio album, You’re a Winner, Baby, in early January.

Released on the same day as the Netflix original series AJ and the Queen, in which RuPaul stars as Ruby Red, You’re a Winner, Baby continues the dance pop and electro house sound of her recent musical endeavors and features upbeat, dance-oriented tracks that include references to both Ru’s massively successful reality television series, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and her own personal life.

The unofficial lead single, “London”, is heavily inspired by the British incarnation of Drag Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, whose first season aired in late 2019, and acted as the theme song for RuPaul’s DragCon UK — the first UK variant of RuPaul’s drag expo, RuPaul’s DragCon, which was held in mid-January.

“Bring Back My Girls” and “Condragulations” are also largely Drag Race-inspired, directly referencing segments and catchphrases from the show, and “I’m a Winner, Baby” is an ode to RuPaul’s husband, American rancher Georges LeBar, with Ru celebrating the fact that she’s won the game of love.

You’re a Winner, Baby arrives just in time for the upcoming twelfth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, which is scheduled to premiere on Friday, February 28 on VH1, so mark your calendars, ladies, because Ru is expected to crown the 22nd winner of the Drag Race franchise and once again utter the words, “You’re a winner, baby”.

You’re a Winner, Baby is available now across all online and streaming platforms.
