Best Movies Of The Decade: 2010-2019

This decade is coming to a close and it has had some of the greatest movies ever. It has had some of the most iconic, best-selling movies. Over these past 10 years, the movies have been the greatest they’ve ever been.

Avengers Endgame: Best Movie of 2019 

Endgame was the best movie of 2019. The movie was well-written and very nostalgic. This movie is about the Avengers going back in time to collect the infinity stones and defeating Thanos with them. The movie also mixes the current avengers movies with the older nostalgic ones. This movie combines all the fan-favorite Marvel movies into one, which is why this movie is so great. This movie was the start of a new Marvel chapter which people are excited about. All in all, I would rate this movie a 10/10.

 

Black Panther: Best Movie of 2018 

Black Panther was the best movie of 2018. The movie was very unique and very entertaining. This movie was special because Black Panther was the first black superhero in comics. Also, most of the cast is black so that makes this movie special. Black Panther was about Black Panther protecting Wakanda from the rest of the world and Killmonger. The characters in the movie were great such as Black Panther, Killmonger, and W’Kabi. Killmonger was my favorite character because of his last words before death. Those words were, “Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships, ’cause they knew death was better than bondage. Overall the movie’s setting, plot, and characters were great. All in all, I rate this movie a 10/10.

 

War For The Planet of the Apes: Best Movie of 2017 

War For The Planet of the Apes was the best movie of 2019. The movie was entertaining and very nostalgic. This movie was very emotional and had a very good plot. This movie built on the past Planet of the Apes series and I believe that this movie signaled the end of the series. This movie was about Caesar saving the captured apes from the soldiers. After Caesar successfully saved the apes he died from previous wounds where he got shot, and that was the end of the movie. This movie’s plot made the movie great. All in all, I rate this movie a 9.5/10

 

Finding Dory: Best Movie of 2016 

Finding Dory was the best movie of 2016. This movie was very entertaining and nostalgic. This movie was built on the previous Finding Nemo movie. It has so many similarities and reminds me of Finding Nemo so much. This movie triggered old emotions and memories from Finding Nemo. This movie was based a Dory, a regal blue tang who got separated from her parents as a child. This movie’s plot was about Dory traveling to find her parents who got separated from her. At the end of the movie, Dory finds her parents and frees all the tagged fish. All in all, I rate this movie a 10/10.

 

Creed: Best Movie of 2015 

Creed was the best movie of 2015. It was very entertaining and had some good life-lessons in it. It is a sequel in the Rocky film series. It was chosen by the National Board of Review as one of the top ten films of 2015. It had some great characters and great acting by Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone. This movie was based on “Donnie” Johnson,  Apollo Creed’s son. The plot was about Donnie becoming a professional boxer and training with his Dad’s friend Rocky Balboa. Donnie eventually competes for the light heavyweight division championship but loses to Ricky Conlan. Overall the characters and the plot of this movie were great. All in all, I rate this movie a 10/10.

 

Selma: Best Movie of 2014 

Selma is the best movie of 2014. It was very entertaining and had some good information/messages. This movie was based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights led by, James Bevel, Hosea Williams, Martin Luther King Jr., and John Lewis. This movie had four Golden Globe nominations including Best Motion Picture- Drama, Best Director, and Best Actor, and won for Best Original Song. But for me, the best part of this movie was how it is based on a real event. The elimination of restrictions on voting is a big topic that people need to be informed on. Overall I rate this movie  10/10.

 

Monsters University: Best Movie of 2013 

Monsters University is the best movie of 2013. It was very entertaining and it is one of my favorite childhood movies. This movie was about Mike and Sulley studying at college to become the best Monster. This movie is a sequel to Monsters Inc, another great movie. The character development between Mike and Sulley was great because they started off as rivals; due to Sulley making the most prestigious fraternity and Mike didn’t make it. But after Sulley got expelled from the fraternity, he and Mike team up for the Scare Games in order to impress the Roar Omega Roar leader. They are eventually expelled and they join the scare team. Overall I rate this movie a 10/10.

 

Avengers: The Best Movie Of 2012 

Avengers was the best movie of 2012. This movie was the start of the famous Avengers series and the beginning of the best Marvel movie series. This movie is the third highest-grossing movie of all time. The Avengers is a group of superheroes that each have their own unique background and personalities. The original Avengers are made up of 6 characters which include, Iron Man, Captain America, Bruce Banner/Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. The plot of this movie is that Loki(Thor’s Evil Brother) is trying to gain infinite power(infinity stone “tesseract”). But S.H.I.E.L.D(Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division) assembles a superhero group(Avengers) to stop Loki, and bring the tesseract back to Earth to create weapons for S.H.I.E.L.D. This was one of my favorite childhood movies and is one of my favorite movies ever. Overall, I rate this movie a 10/10.

 

The Adventures Of  Tintin: Best Movie of 2011 

The Adventures Of Tintin was the best movie of 2011. This movie was very unique and interesting. This movie was based on the comic book series with the same name. This movie grossed over $373 million while having a budget of $135 million. It also got the Golden Globe award for the best-animated feature film. The movie is about a young journalist named Tintin and his dog Snowy trying to find treasure; using a scroll from the Unicorn Globe. Tintin finds all Unicorn Globes containing scrolls that all lead to finding treasure. This movie was one of my childhood favorites. The movie even has a game based on it called “The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn.” Overall, I rate this movie a 10/10.

 

Despicable Me: Best Movie Of 2010 

Despicable Me was the best movie of 2010. This movie was very entertaining and one of the most memorable movies ever. This movie grossed over $546 million and was the start of a great film series. This movie had a great plot and relatable characters. This movie was about Gru trying to one-up Vector because Vector stole The Great Pyramid Of Giza. Gru adopts three girls and takes some minions with him, to help Gru shrink the moon. Gru eventually is able to shrink the moon, but Vector kidnapped the three girls. Gru and the minions go on a rescue mission to save the girls. They successfully save them and bring them back to Earth; at the end of the movie Gru, the three girls, and the minions have a dance party. Overall I rate this movie of 10/10.
