Scholarships! 2nd Week of September

It’s another week and we have more scholarship opportunities for PVHS students.

Hello Spartans! Here are this week’s scholarships:

  • The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. If you are a senior and choose to volunteer, you could get $1000, a trip to DC, and a silver medallion. If you are interested, ask for an application in the main office.
  • Doing a project or presentation on the positive impact of rice agriculture in the US since September for rice month. First prize is 4,000 and due October 31. Ask in the main office for more details.
  • Next is The National Organization for Bilingual Education who are offering $1000 to bilingual students to write on the topic of “How Being Bilingual Will Assist me in My Future Endeavors.” You will be judged on your theme, originality, content and clarity, and your grammar and mechanics. You can get a flyer at the office.
  • Also if you would like to win up to $10,000 by making your own birthday, valentines day, or any other holiday card, then just go to the front office for more details.
  • Hosa generously offers scholarships for high schoolers in a variety of fields. If you’re interested then check the link for more info.
  • Lastly is The Rare Scholars Foundation, if you have a rare disease, are a senior, and have a 3.0 or higher, go to the main office and apply. Deadline is March 30, 2020.
