The McDonalds’ Shamrock Shake

Looking to taste something unconventional this month in order to be in the Saint Patrick’s Day spirit? If so, then you should most definitely try McDonalds’ seasonal drink, the Shamrock Shake.

Saint Patrick’s Day is just around the corner (March 17th) and in order to celebrate this holiday McDonalds has a green mint flavored milkshake dessert. The shake was officially introduced in 1970 and is only available in select McDonald’s the entire month of March. So, do not wait to taste this incredible drink!

If for whatever reason you can’t go to a select McDonald’s to try this disparate drink you can always try to make it at home. This is what you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of vanilla ice cream
  • 1¼ cup of milk
  • ¼ teaspoon of mint extract (you can add more for additional taste)
  • 9 drops of green food coloring

Extras:

  • 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of whipped cream
  • ½ teaspoons of green sprinkles

Instructions:

  • Blend the ice cream, milk, mint extract and food coloring until it is creamy
  • Add the extras as toppings after you pour it into a cup

My Review:

The McDonalds’ Shamrock shake is a delicious dessert! I would recommend it to anyone who has a sweet tooth or a passion for mint.

On a scale from 1-10 I would give this drink a 9.
